THE KNOW HOW

PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES

The manufacturing process is carried out in stages by hand and by machine, no matter where our production site is located, be it in Spain or Thailand. The vulcanisation process requires close collaboration with our partners to ensure that our raw material, rubber, is treated with proper care and respect.

VULCANISATION

Since the 1960s, we have been using the direct vulcanisation process. This enables the rubber to be cured and attached to the upper as a tough, solid, elastic material in a single step. The pressure exerted by the mould closure causes the rubber to penetrate naturally into the material's fibres, thus avoiding the need for glues or solvents. In order to use this manufacturing process, specially designed tools are required.

COLD CEMENT

The "cold cement" technique is an assembly process. The external sole, made of rubber, is first pre-vulcanised then bonded to the upper. This process is currently one of the most widely employed and can be used with the most fragile materials without damaging them.

production

The Spring Court production and manufacturing process takes place across two sites:

Spain, where each shoe is manufactured using the direct vulcanisation technique.

Thailand, where our shoes are manufactured using the cold cement technique. As well as ensuring the quality of our materials, having a local presence in these locations allows us to meet the supply needs of our Japanese and Australian export markets using an approach combining rationalised transport with local supply.

MATERIALS

Our materials are very carefully selected and designed to be worn at any time of the year. In short:

Our cottons are GOTS and OEKO TEX certified and therefore checked and controlled at every stage of their processing.

Our lambskins are sourced from a supplier in France that works with prestigious French brands.

Our suedes are sourced in Italy and Spain.
